Abstract

In foundation analysis, the amount of bearing capacity and the settlement that occurs are two very important criteria. The foundation must have a bearing capacity capable of carrying the load above it, so that the load transfer system to the ground can operate while still controlling the decrease in clearance to maintain the stability of the construction above it.

This analysis is useful for calculating the amount of bearing capacity and settlement that occurs in the spun pile foundation of the Tower-1 Hospital Haji Medan Inpatient Building project, empirically using the finite element method using the PLAXIS 3D application with Mohr-Coulomb and Hardening Soil types.

From the analysis that has been carried out, the ultimate bearing capacity of the spun pile based on SPT data using the O’Neil dan Reese equation is 165.42 tons, while using the results of the interpretation of the loading test using the Davisson method gives a value of 330 tons, the Mazurkiewich method 430 tons and the Chin method 380 tons. For the settlement of a single spun pile, analytically using the results of the Axial loading test in the field, the settlement was 8.45 mm, analysis based on FEM PLAXIS 3D Mohr-Coulomb settlement was 10.99 mm and for Hardening Soil the settlement was 9.26 mm.

The conclusion from the analysis is that the safety values used during design and settlement analysis that are closest to the results in the field are analyzes using PLAXIS 3D with the Hardening Soil modeling type
